*Prosumer*? Why not *prowinter*? Never heard the term but it make me laugh. As to Canon G7, the reviews said it is a lot worse in picture quality than G6, even with bigger MP. Plus from what I read it has only 3 or 4X zoom. Also I think Sony Alfa is worth mentioning in SRL part.

Heh yeah if you read the "how cameras capture images" that helps some explains what parts of the camera most effect images. As a quick run down it's because they put more smaller pixels on the same size image sensor. Each of the smaller pixels is more limited which reduces quality. And the G7 is 6x zoom, not too great but not terrible.
Yes the Sony Alpha is definately worth mentioning, i'll add that tomorrow.

Well Prosumer isn't a technical designation, generally sites that give reviews will call Advanced Digital Cameras "Prosumer" because it's more capable than your typical consumers point and shoot but less competent than professional level cameras (D-SLR's)
