Alrighty guys so this tutorial has been aging but still useful so I figured I'd spruce it up a bit and keep things a bit more on the ball. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE comment and note with things that should be changed or modifies. Any sections that need clarification or spelling mistakes I missed.
As always I hope this helps you guys out and if there's things you'd like to see, PM/Note me. I have the "Tutorial Factory" slowly getting back into gear so we'll see what I can roll out. Daily DeviationGiven 2008-03-28As a photographer, I often get questions about camera-buying, and I have a hard time answering them adequately. Camera Buying Guide by *likwidoxigen does a great job taking the complex subject of camera-buying and watering it down so everyone can understand it,without skipping anything important. The tutorial is aimed at photographers (and potential photographers) of all levels. (Suggested by *Goodbye-kitty975 and Featured by ^znow-white) Comments *Prosumer*? Why not *prowinter*? Never heard the term but it make me laugh.
 As to Canon G7, the reviews said it is a lot worse in picture quality than G6, even with bigger MP. Plus from what I read it has only 3 or 4X zoom.  Also I think Sony Alfa is worth mentioning in SRL part.   --  'Not a shred of evidence exists in favor of the idea that life is serious.'  --  Give us your best shot.  Expose yourself on  *Ex-po-zure    Heh yeah if you read the "how cameras capture images" that helps some explains what parts of the camera most effect images. As a quick run down it's because they put more smaller pixels on the same size image sensor. Each of the smaller pixels is more limited which reduces quality. And the G7 is 6x zoom, not too great but not terrible.

A major factor if I wanted the Rebel vs. Powershot. Very well written btw. -- Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines. oooh good point i should definately add that.
